Governors provide critical strategic leadership for school communities leading to high aspirations for children and young people. They support school leaders, through constructive challenge, to promote school development and improvement. Governors need to be confident in their roles and able to monitor and account for their effectiveness as a board.

This work is at best driven by a school's Christian vision, and the training and support provided by ODBE reflects this, we offer our ODBE Governance Handbook to aid governors in their task. Further support for school governance is provided through the DTS offer and via the School Adviser team.
More information about our support for schools can be found on the ODBE S4S pages. Schools signed up to S4S, our service level agreement, are also able to buy Governance+ which enables all governors to attend our governor training at no additional cost.
