The pages below offer the RE subject leader and the classroom teacher a central place from which to explore a range of the best supportive documents to help with the delivery of high quality RE and professional CPD.
One of the key issues which has occurred recently is around effective communication with parents about how RE is taught. A 2022 survey by Culham St Gabriel's found that religious and philosophical themes are a major talking point at home between parents and their children. Here is the link to the survey and also a video showing a parent talking about the value of Re in school:

We do also know that parental attitudes may be shifting. To support you and your school to navigate potential changes, here are two documents to support you to explain to parents what happens in RE in your school. They are editable, and it is important that you read them carefully, adjusting wording to recognise the context of your school.

Here is the link to a helpful video from NATRE to support everyone to understand the purpose of RE:
There is also new guidance around the Freedom of Religion and Belief, which you may find useful:
Guidance on Freedom of Religion and Belief
You may get questions from parents about what you are doing in RE which may not be covered by this guidance. Please do get in touch if you need support.
New resources are welcome please let Katie Dickens know if you encounter good quality material which we could add.
